Individuals who have completed 4,000 or more volunteer service hours over the course of their lifetime are eligible to receive the President’s Call to Service Award. Only one award can be earned per recipient in a 12-month period. When submitting hours, make sure that the time between the date of the first activity and the date of the last activity submitted is no more than 12 months. As a certifying organization, GSCTX will identify eligible Girl Scout recipients, verify their service hours, and distribute the award to outstanding volunteers. It is a Presidential honor, initiated by President Bush in 2003, to recognize the valuable contributions of volunteers across the nation that serve others through their volunteer activities. This award recognizes Girl Scouts for their community service efforts over a 12-month period.
